How does it work ?
The Internet is an unmanaged network and suffers from packet loss. But packet loss is a problem when streaming live content. This is particularly a problem, when distributing live streams across long distances - from one country to another country, or continent.
When using UDP for content distribution, packet loss immediately results in visual artefacts, drop outs or even interruptions of several seconds - simply because UDP is unreliable.
In contrast, TCP is a reliable protocol. It is therefore used as basis for HTTP and all protocols for Over-The-Top (OTT) streaming. But when using TCP, packet loss immediately results reduced bandwidths and thereby reduced saturation of your link - simply due to the inherent design of TCP. And this becomes worse when using TCP on long-distance links.
When streaming to end users' client devices, adaptive bitrate streaming (ABR) helps to overcome this problem by switching to a stream with lower bitrate. But this does not help, if you want to originally distribute or contribute your content using the original bitrate providing the highest quality.
RelayCaster servers employ a proprietary protocol - called RelayCaster Streaming Protocol (RCSP) - to overcome these problems. This protocol is fully Internet compliant and works with all existing IP network infrastructure. Using RCSP as streaming protocol between two RelayCaster servers allows for the optimized transmission of IPTV streams to remote company sites, data centers, or networks. Streams received on one side are transparently provided again on the other side. In between an arbitrary Internet link is used.
Over-The-Top (OTT) streaming, adaptive bitrate streaming (ABR), and RelayCaster work together nicely: In each data center, streams received by RelayCaster are forwarded to OTT streaming servers providing streams to end users' devices that are 'nearby' (in terms of Internet distance). To this end, RelayCaster helps 'pushing' streams close to end users.
This approach can be scaled. You can create your own Content Delivery Network (CDN) of RelayCaster servers: IPTV streams from a central data center are re-distributed to various intermediate and terminating data centers that are spread around the world.

RD-70 1080P Receiver

The RD70 is a 1080P multi-CODEC ultra-low, low and normal delay MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 AVC/H.264 high definition IRD. The ultra-low delay mode requires the use of Adtec's EN91P 1080P encoder and delivers picture-to-picture services in 100 milliseconds. The RD60 is interoperable with other encoders making it ideal for mission critical trunking, ad-hoc OB, DSNG and teleport applications.

The lightweight, 10 pound or 4.5 Kilo RD60 offers amazing features and specifications in its 1 RU chassis, including redundant AC power supplies, enhanced control and monitoring via its front-panel, a browser and SNMP; video support includes SD, 2D-HD and 3D AVC 422, sixteen channels of phase aligned audio, robust VBI support, reliability and easy of use all for an extraordinary value. In addition to encoding phase aligned audio, the RD70 pass-through support includes PCM, DolbyE (16 and 20 Bit) and Dolby AC3 (2.0 and 5.1).

The RD70 IRD identifies services concurrently from ASI, IP and DVBS/S2 transport interfaces. The DVBS/S2 de-modulator supports modes ranging from QPSK up to 32APSK based on software licenses.

The TXS 3600 is a Multichannel Video and Audio Transcoder which provides a powerful processing engine for linear broadcast transcoding.

Supporting MPEG transport stream inputs and outputs, the product can be configured to transcode up to sixteen PIDs of MPEG2 or H.264 video in a 1RU form factor, along with up to four audio PIDs per video PID.

The TXS uses Sencore’s state of the art video compression techniques to acheive low bitrates and high picture quality. In addition, it provides a wide array of audio codecs which allow decoding and re-encoding to common broadcast formats. The combined solution rivals costly single-channel encoders in both value and performance.

The hardware can be configured and licensed to provide maximum value in any use case, from a single-channel per box up to sixteen channels.

The TXS 3600 carries forward Sencore’s tradition of Ease of Use, providing an intuitive web GUI for unit control and status. It also supports full control through SNMP and a web services API.

The mediaHUB-Pro 02 is a real-time Contribution-quality MPEG 2 Standard and High Definition encoder. It is designed to support the most demanding Contribution, ATSC, DVB and IPTV MPEG 2 Distribution applications; the Studio version of the mediaHUB-Pro 02 encodes Cable Labs VOD and DPI compliant MPEG 2 Transport Streams. The Pro's auto-detect HD/SD-SDI video input eliminates the need for user resolution and frame rate configuration. It boasts dual stream on-board audio encoding of MPEG 1 Layer 2 audio including support for Dolby E and Dolby 5.1 passthrough. Optional dual stream Dolby Digital AC3 encode can be added with a simple software key either at the factory or in the filed. Standard Adtec transport interfaces include three ASI copper outputs with included support for transport over GIGE. Audio inputs include AES3 Digital Audio, SDI and Analog audio. BISS 1 and BISS E encryption is an option that can be field activated with a simple software key, no hardware required. The Pro's user interfaces include a comprehensive easy-to-use front panel interface, on-board Web application server for configuration and monitoring plus SNMP 2.0C MIBS. Unique features of the Studio version include a built-in confidence decoder with HD/SD-SDI, HDMI and D1 outputs.

Soloist-HD Pro

Soloist-HD ProThe Soloist-HD Pro is a broadcast quality High Definition (HD) MPEG 2 and AVC decoder. Multi-CODEC decoding has never been easier or more reliable.

The Soloist-HD Pro supports ASI, GIGE and Hard Drive Transport Stream decoding. Video outputs include D1(composite), HDMI with HDCP and HD-SDI with embedded audio. Decode MPEG 2 SD 422, HD 420, AVC SD and HD video. Audio decoding includes a single stereo channel of Dolby Digital, Dolby 5.1*, MPEG 1 Layer 2 and AAC-LC audio. Output broadcast quality video with embedded stereo audio on the HD-SDI interface and to consumer monitors with the HDMI interface. Composite D1 video and balanced analog audio are also supported for legacy NTSC or PAL environments.

The decoder can down convert HD 1080i or 720 P to Composite or SDI. The Soloist-HD Pro is available in configurations that support either live streaming or stored playback.
